The Hilton Charlotte Airport has unveiled the first phases of its multimillion-dollar makeover.
Operator Atrium Hospitality is in the midst of revamping that 275-room property — formerly the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel for 20 years — and 28,300 square feet of meeting and event space. It is located at 2800 Coliseum Centre Drive.
“By converting to the Hilton brand, our newly renovated hotel is firmly established as the best full-service hotel in the Charlotte market and uptown Charlotte. Our guests can expect modern accommodations as well as warm hospitality and attentive service indicative of the Hilton brand,” says Terry Abernethy, area general manager.
The airport hotel has been refreshed to enhance guest stays and gatherings.
A portion of the guest suites, including two executive floors and the penthouse suite, have been updated with modern fixtures, wood finishes and a color palate with grays and blues; the remainder will be completed during the third phase of the project to minimize disruption for guests.
The lobby has been redesigned, with social seating added in the open-air atrium. A private dining area serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Updated event space includes two grand ballrooms, which can be configured to accommodate 11 gatherings.
“We’re excited to welcome back travelers after one of the most challenging years in our country’s history,” says Daniel Abernethy, Atrium president.
Alpharetta, Georgia-based Atrium Hospitality is one of the nation’s largest hotel operators, with 83 hotels in 28 states. Its North Carolina portfolio includes five properties, including the airport hotel and Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Concord Golf Resort & Spa as well as properties in the Greensboro and Raleigh markets.
